Based on McAfee's innovative Active Virus Defense and VirusScan technology, VirusScan ASaP delivers continuous protection against known viruses, Web attacks, and e-mail intrusions to desktop environments and infrastructures.

With most Firebox® appliance, you will receive an initial one-year subscription to McAfee® VirusScan® ASaP:

• Firebox® X Core and Firebox X Peak models come with a 5-seat subscription.
• Firebox® X Edge models come with a 1-seat subscription.
• Firebox® SOHO 6 models come with a 1-seat subscription.
• Firebox® Vclass models V100, V80, V60, and V60L come with a 5-seat subscription, and Firebox® V10 comes with a 1-seat subscription.

Additional seat licenses are available for these models. Requires previous WatchGuard product activation.

VirusScan ASaP subscriptions are not included with the purchase of Firebox X e-Series appliances.

Once you've registered from the McAfee secure Web site you begin receiving 24x7 virus protection immediately. VirusScan ASaP monitors your desktop environments without impacting network response times. McAfee manages all updates, reports and alerts.

Management Reporting
The VirusScan Web-based reports show detailed enterprise-wide information such as the number and type of viruses found and killed, system coverage status and outbreak trends.

Based on McAfee Active Virus Defense and VirusScan technology, VirusScan ASaP springs into action when files are opened, informs you immediately of viral intrusions and gives you the option of deleting the file or cleaning out the virus code.

Comprehensive Virus Detection and Cleaning
VirusScan ASaP detects and cleans all possible virus sources, including floppy disks, Internet downloads, e-mail attachments, networks, shared files, CD-ROM and online services. VirusScan ASaP scans an entire system to detect and eliminate viruses, worms and Trojan horses that occur in Microsoft® Office 2000, Word, and Excel, as well as hostile Java®/ActiveX® applets, and malicious DHTML code. Variant detection techniques look for new mutations of existing dangerous viruses. A sophisticated decryption engine detects advanced encrypted viruses before they crash desktops. VirusScan ASaP has been proven to find known viruses wherever they exist on your desktop.

Updating
VirusScan ASaP delivers scheduled anti-virus updates across your entire e-business infrastructure. Updates are implemented automatically at boot-up, or at scheduled intervals. A one-click manual update option is available, and updates can also be "forced" to desktops.

Protection against E-mail and Internet Threats
VirusScan ASaP is a real-time virus scanner that detects viruses in e-mail attachments as soon as the attachments are opened. Hostile Java and ActiveX applets are detected and disabled before they have a chance to harm your system.
